Breathtaking Display !

Awesome show!! After 6 years it is great that they brought it back to Waterkloof! We’ve missed it!

All the items were spectacular!

The jets were breathtaking….my daughter loved the Mass Helicopter Display, approaching us like a huge swarm of bees. The 737 was a highlight for me 🙂 The pilot was having fun and we loved it !!

It is also so special doing these kind of things with a child: “Shoewee!”…..”WOW”….and all the questions and you are their hero and expert. It’s so awesome listening to all the parents trying to explain all the stuff that these excited minds are trying to comprehend.

~ It really is NICE being a parent!! ~

I’m certainly going to keep looking for and making family outings a regular activity in our lives….life is hard enough without still foregoing such pleasures and blessings!

Birthday Cake

So after 10 years of marriage, I finally got it right!  I successfully baked my dear hubby a birthday cake (on time! and on my own)….I’m so chuffed with myself. 😀

You have no idea what bad luck I have with baking cakes, over and above my pure procrastination of even attemptingit, in light of the fear of it being a flop…*lets NOT talk about the box cake I bought that was eventually chucked out two years later, riddled with weavels, the box pretty much still in tact*  I have had numerous mishaps of which I will graciously write about purely for your reference and secret pleasure. From the “Bisto Mishap” to the “Dented Happy Birthday Jesus”, I’ve had my fair share of disappointments.  They are disappointments because I long to bake & decorate perfect cakes and have countless books to prove it….smiles…but I guess for now, I’ll just hold out on joining the Icing Guild.
